Wes Downs

Wes Downs is a Senior Outside Sales Engineer for MELD Manufacturing specializing in project management, business development and sales. He is also the Vice Chair of Technical Activities for the San Diego Chapter of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Prior to joining MELD Manufacturing, Wes worked for General Dynamics NASSCO for 7 years. His first two years at NASSCO were within their Hull Engineering group developing block arrangements, build strategy, and supporting production. His following 5 years were within Initial Design and Naval Architecture focusing on designing primary and secondary structures and becoming the additive manufacturing lead. He received his bachelor's degree in Ocean Engineering from Virginia Tech and, while a student, was the Chair for the student chapter of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
