Varick Williams is presently a Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) Team Lead for Aircraft Maintenance & Modification (AM&M) and Commodities & Services (C&S) Divisions. As a SBLO, he supports strategic efforts to identify, expand, and accelerate the use of Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a) firms, Woman-Owned Small Businesses, Historically Underutilized Business Zone Businesses, Veteran Owned Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities/Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) for subcontracting opportunities, within the United States. Additionally, Varick works with Boeing’s Supplier Development organization to identify and grow LEAN capabilities of minority and women business enterprises (MBEs and WBEs) globally. He also serves as Small Business Focal to Business Development Capture Teams for generating Individual Subcontracting and Small Business Participation Plans on key proposal campaigns.
One of his passions is leading the Veterans’ Business Enterprise Initiative, where he spearheads efforts to increase procurement commitments with Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses on Boeing programs. In addition to his SBLO duties, Varick leads assessments, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen workshops with Boeing suppliers supporting Mentor Protégé’ Agreements.
Outside of work, Varick serves as the Vice President of Donation Relations for the ABC Unified School District Foundation and serves as a committee member for the annual FUNRUN event supporting the district grant programs. He is an active member of the Long Beach/ Inglewood/South Bay Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he serves as Treasurer.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, Varick graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Studies and an Associate’s Degree in Aviation Business Administration. He also received his private-pilot license. In 1994, he received his Masters of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix with a concentration in finance.
