Eaton Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence
Lucas Stahl is an additive manufacturing engineering specialist at Eaton Research Labs’ AM Center of Excellence. In his current role, Lucas acts as Eaton’s hardware and process expert for all types of additive manufacturing with a current focus on laser powder bed fusion and metal binder jet printing. He was recruited by Eaton to help establish and lead Eaton’s push into the field of AM. His group looks to evaluate and industrialize new AM processes intended for production parts in Eaton’s businesses. Lucas and his research team kick off low rate initial production of additive parts and foster AM education and processes into the broader Eaton community. He has previously held AM roles ranging from technician, process engineer, and operations lead. He has several patents pending for AM aerospace components and in-situ monitoring involving additive processes. Prior to his contributions in AM, Lucas also held roles in fields including injection molding tooling fabrication and kinetic battery research and development. Lucas holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Michigan with significant research focused on Python-based image analysis.
