Sector Strategies Coordinator

James Marsh is the Sector Strategies Coordinator for Goodwill Southern California. He’s currently focused on connecting employers, training & educational providers, and job seekers together to create career pathways, develop employment pipelines, design apprenticeships, and to establish partnerships within the manufacturing industry that lead to successful outcomes for all involved. He is also a part of Strong Workforce Apprenticeship Group or (SWAG), which is a partnership between Goodwill Southern California & College of the Canyons. SWAG is a partnership which combines the talents of a leading Workforce Intermediary in Goodwill Southern California, with the resources of College of the Canyons, a pioneer in corporate training and skills development. This collaboration results in a model of apprenticeship that is functional, and easy for companies to implement.
He has over 20 years’ experience in Workforce and Career Development, having worked for various One-Stop Job Training & Re-Employment Centers, secondary education, and local government. His main focus has been on Business Services, Business Engagement, Job Development, Candidate Recruitment, and Program Development. He’s worked with Goodwill Southern California for over 6 years. He received Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science & Sociology from the University of California Santa Cruz and his Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling with concentrations in Career Counseling & College Counseling from San Jose State University.
