A Technical Fellow, Curtis is Spirit’s enterprise leader for automation technology including development and execution of related strategy. He also leads the broader Smart Manufacturing segment of Spirit’s Distinctive Capability corporate strategy for investment that touches research, technology, and capital plans as well as mergers and acquisitions. In his 20-plus years of industry experience, he has founded a regional robot working group bringing together broad stakeholder collaboration and support, served on the Robotic Industries Association’s Board of Directors for eight years, and been an active voice in the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute including as a member of its Stakeholder Executive Council. He is passionate about automation and its potential to transform manufacturing productivity across industries.
Curtis earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering and a MS in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, both from Wichita State University. He has been married to his wonderful wife Kelley for sixteen years and they have been blessed with three children, now ages fourteen, eleven, and seven.
